Nearly 470 Students Graduate as Part of Lebanon Valley College's 150th Commencement
Nearly 470 students celebrated their academic success and achievements during Lebanon Valley College's 150th Commencement Saturday, May 11, in Louis A. Sorrentino Gymnasium.

ESU to Graduate 1,187 Students at Three Commencement Exercises
A total of 1,187 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at separate commencement exercises for undergraduate and graduate students on May 10 and May 11. ESU will hold three graduation ceremonies: one for graduate students on Friday, May 10 at 6:45 p.m. and two ceremonies for undergraduate students on Saturday, May 11. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 8:45 a.m. (College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education) and at 1:15 p.m. (College of Business and Management and College of Health Sciences). All three ceremonies will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse. A total of 995 bachelor's degrees, 188 master's degrees and four doctoral degrees will be awarded.

Wilkes University Students in College of Science and Engineering Present Senior Projects
Wilkes University electrical and mechanical engineering majors presented their senior projects and demonstrated them at an event on April 28. It was attended by faculty, friends and family. Engineering students in the University's College of Science and Engineering are required to complete a senior project as part of the requirements to complete their degrees.

More than 200 Wilkes University students who received scholarships, along with the donors whose gifts made the scholarships possible, were recognized at the annual Scholarship Luncheon on April 4.

Art Therapy Student Have Work Featured
Cedar Crest College presents, The Art of Art Therapists at the Gallery of Capital Blue Cross at the Shoppes at the Promenade in Center Valley. This exhibit presents imagery from students in the undergraduate and graduate art therapy program as well as faculty. Student artists featured are Courtney Brensinger, Charlene Natterman, Amber Petchonka, Heather Tittle, and Eden Yandrisovitz. Faculty exhibiting are Michelle Dean, Program Director, and Meredith Fleshman, adjunct faculty. The opening reception is on April 11th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The exhibit is on display from April 8th through May 6th.

Wilkes University Students Participate in Alternative Break Trip to Costa Rica
Sixteen Wilkes University students participated in a LEAP-AB trip to Costa Rica March 2-9. LEAP-AB stands for Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Partnerships-Alternative Break, coined by student leaders in 2016. The students learned about the intersection of ecotourism development and ecology by visiting a number of environmentally sensitive sites in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. Students also completed community service with park rangers at Rincon de la Vieja National Park, maintaining hiking trails around the park. Students were also able to observe many species of flora and fauna in their natural habitat.

2019 Sophomore Expedition
The Sophomore Expedition is a guaranteed study abroad program. In the spring semester of their sophomore year, students participate in a series of classes to prepare them for the trip. Then they spend 8-10 days traveling as a class to an international destination where they participate in a number of service activites. This year they traveled to Athens, Greece.

The Lebanon Valley College Concert Choir proudly announces its 83rd annual spring tour from March 17-24. Conducted by Dr. Kyle Zeuch, the 60-member ensemble will give multiple concert performances in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Elizabethtown College announced the names of students whose outstanding academic performances have earned them the recognition of being included on the fall 2018 dean's list. Students on the dean's list are full-time undergraduate students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.60 or higher in 14 or more credit hours, of which at least 12 credits are letter-graded course work.

Kutztown University Announces Fall 2018 Degree Recipients
Kutztown University has conferred degrees for more than 450 students for the Fall 2018 semester. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The following students have been awarded degrees following the fall 2018 semester. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honors distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80. 109 juniors and seniors at Kutztown University have completed a Career Success Certificate for the Fall 2018 semester. The Career Success Certificate is open to all juniors and seniors. A total of 1,513 students have been named to the Dean's List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the Fall 2018 semester of the 2018-2019 academic year, according to Joanne Bruno, J.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs. Students eligible for the Dean's List are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time. The letter grade "B" earns 3 quality points per credit, and the grade "A" earns 4 quality points per credit.

Liberal Arts & Science Students Recognized for Excellence
Seniors from 23 departments and a variety of interdisciplinary programs were recognized for outstanding achievement Academic Excellence Awards presented by Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (HCLAS. Nominated by their chairpersons and professors, 35 of the 42 student honorees were present to receive their award, which included a certificate and a $100 gift. After the ceremony in the Student Center Theater, the celebration moved to the Multipurpose Room.
